Samuel and I went away for a wee break to Tarawera and Wellington.
We visited our friends Gwen and Mario and Samuel's sisters.
I did not take many pictures this time because I don't like carrying my older but heavy camera. My lightweight lumix died on me a few months ago.
this is Gwen and Mario's new abode - sweet little thing that needed lots of restoration and alterations.
that is the street view - gorgeous road flanked with native bush

all that mischief was happening around that little fire in my favourite coffee bar in Welly - Why this one? - well the fire played a huge role and also they served chai latte prepared with rice milk and lots of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon powder njam njam
industrial artefact :
the Hikitia floating crane - Taranaki Street Wharf : this crane is a Wellington icon and thought to be the world's oldest ship of this type still working. Built in Scotland in 1926 she sailed from Glasgow on 28 September and arrived in Wellington on 21 December - some 84 days which is considered a record distance for a ship of this type. She began work almost immediately and for 63 years was used in construction and other work , including the demolishing the wahine. |
